Q + A

General Questions

When do I need to RSVP by?

At this time, please RSVP by December 17th. This will allow us to prepare the seating chart and enjoy the upcoming holiday season. While this may feel early we are asking our family and friends to please consider how hectic the holiday season is and to let us know as soon as possible! Thank you!!

Are children invited?

We love your little ones! However, due to limited numbers we can only accommodate for the children named on your invitation. We encourage you to use this evening as a date night!

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to limited space, we cannot accommodate additional guests. We can only allow the people named on the invitation. Your invitation will be made out to "{Your Name} & Guest" if a plus one has been given to you. When in doubt please ask!

What is the dress code?

We would love to see our friends and family get dressed up with us! Our guest attire is "Winter Formal/Cocktail". The Olmsted will have a staffed coat check available for our guests. Here is a quick AI summary of what that looks like: "For a winter formal/cocktail wedding, guests can expect a dress code that's festive and elegant, but less formal than a black-tie event. Men may opt to wear a tux or suit, with fun touches in tie or bow tie selections. Women may opt for floor-length or midi dresses, and cocktail dresses in luxe fabrics like velvet, satin, or crepe. Add a bit of seasonal sparkle or texture- metallic accessories, velvet details, or deep jewel tones work perfectly." We kindly request that you do not wear white or any color that is traditionally reserved for the bride.

What about parking?

Both St. Albert the Great and the Olmsted have paved lots reserved for their venues and it's free for the event!

Ceremony Questions

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

Our ceremony starts promptly at 4 pm. Guests can begin arriving as early as 3:20 pm. Please arrive by 3:40 pm to ensure you have enough time to find your seat. If you arrive after the ceremony has started, please seat yourself at the back of the ceremony space after the bride has entered.

What kind of ceremony will this be?

We are having a Catholic Wedding without a full Mass. The structure of the ceremony focuses on the Liturgy of the Word, which includes scripture readings and the exchange of vows, followed by a blessing for the couple. They typically last around 45 minutes. All are welcome to attend and participate as they feel comfortable.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

We are having an "unplugged" ceremony. This means we are asking all phones and devices to be put away and turned off during the ceremony. We will have an amazing team of photographers and videographers to capture our special day. Additionally, given that we are having our ceremony in a church, please respect the holiness of the space. We want to ensure our guests are fully present during this special moment. However, please feel free to take as many pictures after the ceremony as you would like!

What hotel should we stay at?

Thank you for traveling in for our big day- we so appreciate it. See the travel tab for more details regarding hotels close to the venues.

Reception Questions

Will there be an open bar?

We will have an open bar with a variety of drink options at our reception. We kindly ask that you drink responsibly and tip the wonderful bartenders and staff.

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

There will be a cocktail hour starting at 6 pm between the ceremony and the reception dinner. Hors D'oeuvres will be available during this time, along with a variety of beverages. The happy couple and wedding party will join everyone at the Olmsted once we conclude pictures post the ceremony at St. Albert's.

Menu options?

When you RSVP, you will select your dinner entree option from our preselected menu. We have chosen a beef, chicken, and vegetarian option to appeal to all of our guests. If you have specific dietary concerns or restrictions, please reach out to the bride or indicate this on your RSVP.
