Caity and Dustin's Story

Picture of Caity and Dustin's Story

Caity and Dustin met in 2017 during her last year of college and while he was working at the Coast Guard Base in Elizabeth City. They were both out for the evening at a friends bonfire when they glanced upon one another. They both knew of each other and had the same friends group. Later in that week, Caity asked her friend for his snapchat and they both began talking to each other. In July of 2017, they had their first date. A couple weeks went by and they decided that they were not ready to be in a new relationship. One evening, a friend was on the way to Greenville to visit Caity and brought along an unexpected guest (that guest to be Dustin). They both arrived at Caity's house in Greenville and let's just say, he never left! They were both inseparable after that visit. One thing that Caity and Dustin share, is the love of ECU tailgating. He spent many weekends with her in Greenville with their friends. She eventually moved to Hertford and lived with him and his parents. Not soon later, they moved to Elizabeth City in 2019 into their first home and got their furry children, Easton and Dunkin.

With many trials they continued to share the love that they had for each other. In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 it states, "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance".

In August of 2021, Caity and Dustin traveled to St. Augustine, FL. St. Augustine is their most favorite place to spend their time. With all the crazy changes within the travel and weather, Dustin noted that he had to change his way of proposing many times. Dustin proposed to Caity on the beautiful beaches of St. Augustine. Let's just say the rest is history!
