Our Wedding

<p>Cale and I are engaged. Although the moment was special, it didn’t just happen. It was a part of a weekend, full of memories. I will cherish forever. I wanted to share with you how it unfolded. The last weekend in July my family, Cale, and I took a mini road trip to Deer Lodge Montana to watch Paige perform Bye-bye Birdy. The small trip turned into something bigger that was unforgettable from the start. We hit traffic and road construction and at one point almost got rear ended. Luckily Lander’s quick reflexes kicked in to save the day. He swerved us off the road, just in time. To calm nerves the rest of the way we stuffed ourselves with snacks and laughter. We stayed at Chris’s house, my Grandpa Tim's girlfriend, where we got to see her sweet-ish dogs, and even Mrs. Littlebirds’ dog (Miss Littlebird was Cale’s sixth grade teacher and also happens to be Chris’s daughter, small world). That night, we stayed up way too late playing pool in the basement. I still was just starting out, but I did manage to beat Cale once after a long, 45 minute match, which I’ll brag about forever. We played doubles too, but to put it nicely, Cale and I aren’t really a championship team. The next day, Cale and I visited the old prison and car museum in Deer Lodge, and ended it off with ice cream. I had pistachio almond, and he got lemon bar. I couldn’t help feeding him spoonfuls while he tried to drive, laughing through every bite. On the way home Cale and I split off from the family staying a night at Cale’s place while everyone else headed back to Forsyth. That evening we went and saw the live action How to Train Your Dragon in theaters and grabbed Panda Express before heading back. A storm was starting to roll in. So we drove out to some state land around Molt, to sit under the sky, and watch the thunder and lightning in the distance. It was peaceful. Just the two of us, watching the clouds light up the night. When it started to get late. We stood to head back to the truck. As I turned to go I heard him quietly say my name. I turned around, and there he was on one knee. I said yes! I love you all, and I’m excited for the future. I’m glad I could share this with you.</p>
