Our Wedding

Our Story

Dorothy and Caleb initially met through mutual friend groups in September 2023 at their university in Kelowna, BC. They got to know each other more after Caleb and his best man Liam invited her and her friends to come to church with them.As the semester went on the two ran into each other around campus frequently having brief chats. This gave Caleb pause for thought as he realized it could be the Lord setting up these appointments. After some months of this Caleb felt conflicted as he wanted to see if there could be something more to the relationship, but they were still just friends. One morning, Caleb prayed his confusion to God asking that he would provide a natural and meaningful conversation with Dorothy to confirm if a relationship with Dorothy was something that God wanted him to pursue. His classes came and went that day, but while he was waiting in the library for his bus to come at 6:30PM, none other than Dorothy walked in! She took a seat at the table he was sitting at as they talked about many topics including hopes and dreams for their lives. Their chat ended at 9:30PM and it was on the bus home that Caleb realized the Lord had just answered his prayer from that morning! After a week of praying and giving his relationship with Dorothy back to God, he confessed his feelings towards her and asked her on a date. Bashfully, she accepted the offer and confessed the same feelings. Not long after the confession, they came to find out that on the day they met in the library both of them had been asking God for guidance regarding their relationship! Just before Dorothy had entered the library she had been praying that God would guide their relationship. This realization gave the two a new found confidence that this relationship was being guided by God. After a few dates, Caleb and Dorothy became an official couple on February 4th 2024. A funny story about the initial dating period would be their second date. In a pursuit to be as efficient as possible in determining if each other were compatible to share a life together, they both wrote out interview style questions to give each other. It was Dorothy’s mother who told them that they were being far too serious for dating and said they should simply try to enjoy their time together. They did ask some of the questions but more so tried to relate in a natural way. After many ups and downs, tears and laughter, small talk and deep conversations, they have arrived at this pivotal moment where the two will become one flesh, and join together through the covenant of marriage. Through all the seasons Dorothy and Caleb have gone through they thank the Lord for being their rock and foundation as they have prepared their minds and souls for marriage.

Caleb and Liam met at just the right time in their second year of university when they were both needing a brother to support them through the difficulties of life. They were roommates for two years.

Caleb met Preeyansh at UBCO in his second year. They initially bonded over simultaneously living with rather unsavoury roommates.

Caleb met John-Paul in his first year of university and they immediately hit it off. John-Paul has been with Caleb through many ups and downs.

Caleb met Dylan in second year of university at UCM (Christian club on campus). They have been roommates on multiple occasions and thoroughly enjoy singing worship songs together in the key of E on Dylan's guitar.

Caleb met Alex in 2024 when he first arrived in Canada at UBCO. The two hit it off very quickly over a variety of topics. Early on they made a deal that they would help each other learn their respective native languages.

Caleb met Victor at UBCO through John-Paul. They frequently talk about theological topics and love joking around together.

Dorothy met Madi at High school and they clicked immediately. They spent a lot of times going to the thrift store, using gift cards at Starbucks, watching k-dramas together, making cup noodle with floating arugula, selling plastic toys at firework events, and more.

Dorothy met Dani in grade 5 and started to bond over pranks, trampoline games, and Youtube videos. Then throughout the school year, they started to hang out lots in her hot tub along with Bella and Ashley

Danielle Trudel 

Dorothy met Bella in grade 6 and they did not like each other. High school, they rekindled the fire and started to go to Village Youth together. They filled their days eating and cooking, and going to the convenience store together.

Dorothy met Ashley on a bus in Grade 5 and they did many things together on that bus like reading, playing geometry dash, playing Nintendo, and watching music videos. They also had many great play dates together where they would go quading together at her mom's pepper farm.

Dorothy met Nika at UBCO in a 100 level English class. Nika invited Dorothy to recreate Easter high tea with bunny sandwiches and tarts as well as inviting Dorothy to a Bridgerton inspired high tea event!

Dorothy met Olivia at UBCO at a Christian Club called UCM and learned that they lived in the same building together!

Gifts for the Couple

As Caleb and Dorothy will be living in Kelowna for only one year and are uncertain where God will be taking them afterwards, cash is preferred instead of gifts. There will be a collection box at the church entrance to drop off envelopes with money as people come in.
