Olivia has no idea that Ive written this, but thats alright! The way Olivia tells it, we first met at a Fathers House retreat during my first year as a FOCUS missionary. I dont remember this really much at all, which is probably a good thing, because I would have still fallen in love right there and would not have been ready for her. In Gods perfect timing, I officially got to meet Olivia at NST (FOCUS New Staff Training for anyone who doesnt know NST) where we both were on the Production Committee. During our first video call for the committee I saw her and thought she was the most beautiful woman I had seen. During this same meeting, our Committee Head had mentioned that Olivia was going to be late to training due to her wedding. I was devastated. She was engaged! I decided shortly after that I was giving up on vocations for the summer, and was not going to be asking anyone on dates, or pursuing any type of a vocation at all. I found out at training that Olivia actually wasnt engaged, but that she was just going to someone elses wedding, and our Committee Head just said it weirdly. I was elated, and at the same time devastated all over again because I had already decided to focus fully on God that summer, and to not pursue any romantic relationships. So, Olivia and I became friends, and it was such a gift to get to grow in friendship and know her that way first. It is in this time that I realized that she was the easiest person to talk to, had a deep love for Jesus, and a heart for the people around her and their salvation. May 27th, 2024 I wrote in my journal, Im glad Im not pursuing any relationships right now. Besides, the only person Id want to date is Olivia, and shell be in Denver, so I can wait it out! When I arrived in Denver, to work at the Denver Support Center for FOCUS, I waited longer. A month to be exact, continuing to grow our friendship and get to know her in the office/in the place shed lived for the last year. Finally the day came to ask her on a date. Our departments with FOCUS were having an offsite, fun day, and I was glued to Olivias side, looking for the perfect opportunity to ask her...it never came. I watched her drive off from the event, and went back to my house, kicking myself for not asking her. After a little contemplation, I decided to hop in my car and drive to her house to ask her on a date! After driving for about 10 minutes, I realized that I had no idea where she lived...and it was pouring rain and I could barely see to drive. So, I pulled into a local Sonic, decided I was going to just call her, and planned to either celebrate with a Sonic burger, or mourn with a family sized (16) mozzarella sticks. Praise God she said yes to a date! It sounds cheesy to say the phrase, The rest is history. But I dunno, I feel like it can apply here.

Please take into account the time it takes to travel from the airport into town. It normally takes 45 minutes - 1 hour depending on where you are staying in Denver.

If you want to stay near the church, I would recommend booking an Airbnb. Here are some great neighborhoods! Platt Park: A very walkable area that is close to cute restaurants and shops. Olivia used to live right over here and loved it! Wash Park: One of the most popular neighborhoods in Denver! Stay here and take a walk around the iconic Wash Park. I would not recommend booking a place west of South Broadway in this part of town. Please reach out with any questions!

Park Meadows: Home to a very large mall and popular shopping area. Not walkable but has great restaurants! Denver Tech Center: Also has great restaurants and one of our favorite coffee shops - Monk and Mongoose!

Near the Venue

Castle Rock: The Outlets at Castle Rock are a less than 10 minute drive to the venue. Castle Rock is a quaint town outside of Denver. We really like the gluten-free cupcakes from the Cake Company!

Travel

We love this farmers’ market! It happens every Sunday from May-November and is definitely worth the visit!

South Pearl Street Farmers' Market

We come here for a little coffee date before work some days! It is an easy walk from the church!

Steam Espresso Bar

We live in the Littleton area and absolutely LOVE it. We would 100% recommend checking out the downtown strip! It’s filled with great restaurants and cute shops. Favorites include: Cencalli Taqueria The Lazy Greyhound Mango Tree Coffee Denver Beer Co. Lost Coffee
