Our Wedding

Caleb and I met back in 2013 when I transferred to Tanana Middle School halfway through our 7th grade year. We had mutual friends, but we were both pretty shy and didn’t talk much one-on-one. Even though we both had a crush on each other throughout middle and high school, nothing ever really happened at the time. My mom, however, loved to remind me how cute she thought he was. A couple of months after graduation in 2019 I saw him again. He came into Spenard Builder’s Supply, where I was working at the time. I was so excited to see him and hoped he would come back the next day, but he didn’t, and that was that— or so I thought. I later found out he had come back, but we had missed each other. When we reconnected in 2020 through a mutual friend, I was hesitant and nervous about seeing him again. Looking back, I now realize it was the best decision I could have made. After that night, we became inseparable, and over the following months, what began as a simple childhood crush turned into a friendship. Caleb took me to the gun range on our first date in 2021. It resulted in an ER trip when Caleb tried to impress me by shooting at a metal pot and then kicking it when we got up close to see the aftermath. As we sat in the doctor’s office, cracking jokes about how we ended up there, I knew he was the one for me. Our love quickly grew from that day on. We bonded over our love for country and heavy metal music, our future goals, mechanics, dogs, and so much more. We also had many conversations about marriage in the years that followed, knowing it was the direction we were headed one day. We decided to wait a couple more years and focus on developing our relationship. We had each other, and that’s what mattered—there was no rush. In 2022, we started the process of buying a home we could call our own. At the time, we had no idea we’d be welcoming a new addition into that home in the year that followed! In 2023, just two weeks after moving into our new home, we were blessed with the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Kinley-Ann. She has been our greatest Joy ever since. In 2024, we were engaged on a beautiful beach in Hawaii. A good friend of mine once pointed out that Caleb and I had an “invisible string” connecting us. Her words made me realize that Caleb has been the one for me since we were kids. Over the years, I saw time passing as a sign that we weren’t meant to be together, but rather that we needed to grow as individuals. I believe God had a plan for us, guiding us to become the people we were meant to be, so that when the time was right, we would find our way back to each other. This is just the short version of our story, but the memories we’ve created together are endless, and our love is everlasting.
