Caleb and Christine first met in 2023 through their coaching roles at Lawrence High School. Christine had already been leading the dance team for two years when Caleb was hired as the new cheer coach. Their paths quickly intertwined during joint practices and conditioning sessions, where their shared dedication—and shared sense of humor—sparked an easy and genuine friendship. One evening, Caleb texted Christine and asked if she wanted to grab ice cream and hear about a not-so-great date he’d just been set up on. Christine didn’t hesitate to say yes—partly because she couldn’t resist a good story (she loves some “tea”), and partly because she had a hunch she’d been right about the other girl not being the one for him.What started as a quick catch-up turned into two hours of walking and talking through downtown Lawrence. Eventually, they wandered into The Sandbar, a beloved local bar, where the conversation—and the chemistry—kept flowing. Somewhere between laughter and storytelling (and a little nudge from the bartender, Aaron), they both realized something had shifted. This wasn’t just a casual hangout. They were on a date—and it felt exactly right. From that night on, everything changed. They were smitten, and the rest, as they say, is history.
