In July of 2023, Caleb and Taylor were both on the way to Nashville for a vacation filled with friendship, fun and, of course what Nashville is known for, concerts! Caleb and his friends were set to go see The Chicks while Taylor and his sisters were going to see George Strait.

On day one of Caleb’s trip, his car broke down and ended up in the shop for most of the day. Once he was back up and running, he and his friends started getting excited for the concert that was set to take place the next night.

On day two, Caleb and his friends were notified that their concert was going to be canceled due to the lead singer being sick. At this point, Caleb decided that this trip was not meant to be and decided the next morning he would pack up and go back home because too many things were going wrong.

On the third day, Caleb was having lunch with a friend who told him that he has the approved time off from work, the hotel was paid for and they could go out and have fun even without the concert. Caleb decided to give Nashville one more shot, and later that day Caleb received a message from a handsome guy named Taylor on a dating app (and due to some adult beverages, Caleb thought Taylor’s user name had a chapel in it, which turned out to be the hospital emoji since Taylor is a nurse).

Caleb was instantly intrigued with Taylor based on the great conversation and (of course) his stunning pictures. Taylor and Caleb continued chatting the last two days of their Nashville trip and had planned to meet up for a drink, but Taylor was with family and did not want to leave them after their fun filled night at the George Strait concert, but promised Caleb that he would let him buy him a drink in the future.

Fast forward to the next morning, Caleb was packed and leaving his hotel while Taylor and his sisters packed their bags and went their separate ways from their AirBnb. As Caleb was leaving and could see Nashville in his rear view mirror, he thought to himself “Man, that guy was something!” And “if only I could have bought him that drink…”

Moments later, Caleb received a message from Taylor saying that if he was okay with it, they could exchange numbers or if he was more comfortable with a different platform, Snapchat or Instagram. About 5 seconds later, Caleb sent Taylor all 3 and anxiously awaited to hear from him.

Once back home, Caleb knew that he had to meet Taylor. They talked and made a plan that Taylor would fly to Savannah the next weekend so Caleb could take him on a date. It was a no stress date. If it worked, it worked and if it didn’t, then at least they tried it out. To both their surprise, it was like they knew each other for years. They laughed, they had fun and most importantly they enjoyed each other’s company. After their first date, they decided to start seeing each other on a long distance basis and their fondness of each other grew from there.

Taylor was offered a Travel nurse contract job in Hilton Head, SC where Caleb lived and after accepting the offer, Taylor and Caleb decided to try it out and live together for 3 months to see how it went. After blending their 2 homes and 3 dogs, Caleb knew that Taylor was the one for him.

Caleb thought to himself “I want to marry this guy, but it’s been 3 months. Can you really love someone after 3 months? Can you actually want to marry someone after 3 months? Am I totally crazy for thinking this?” But the great thing about loving someone is you make your own rules. Anything goes.

After the new year, Taylor and Caleb were planning a trip to Taylor’s hometown of New Orleans so Caleb could meet Taylor’s family and see what life is like in Louisiana. Caleb knew that would be the perfect time to propose because they would be surrounded by family and be in a place that made Taylor happy. At a family barbeque, Caleb got down on one knee and asked Taylor to marry him, and he said yes! From there, the rest was history.

Taylor and Caleb have enjoyed many vacations, dinners, trips, parties and co-parenting their 3 dogs Skout, Cooper and Reese. But most of all, they have enjoyed doing all this together. Caleb always says “third days a charm” because if it hadn’t of been for that third day in Nashville, you wouldn’t be on your computer or phone reading this right now.

Fun fact: Taylor and Caleb ended up flying back to Nashville a few months later for a weekend trip where Caleb got to take Taylor for that drink that they didn’t get to have the first time.
