What time should I show up?
To ensure everything runs smoothly, we kindly ask that you arrive promptly for the ceremony. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes early so you can settle in and be ready for the start of the celebration.
If you happen to arrive after the ceremony has begun, we ask that you wait quietly in your car or outside the venue until the procession has finished to avoid disrupting the moment.
What should I wear?
We want our guests to dress up with us, so show up in your best dressed!
Ladies, you are free to wear a dress of any kind, a nice jumpsuit, a skirt, etc. Men, if you choose to wear jeans (the groom and groomsmen will be), please avoid any holes, rips, or stains. We ask that you wear a nice pair of dress shoes or boots with your outfit. We encourage you not to wear tennis shoes.
What about weather?
Fall weather in Iowa can always be a hit or miss. We plan to have the ceremony outside and guests are welcome to mingle inside or out for the reception. If it does rain on our big day, the ceremony will be held inside. The venue does have a nice patio with a big awning. So, if guests would like to mingle outside, they are more than welcome to!
Can I bring a plus one?
If your invitation includes a plus one, feel free to bring someone along! If not, it’s best to attend solo, as the couple might have a limited number of guests they can invite.
Are children allowed?
As we prepare for our special day, we want to ensure that everyone can enjoy the celebration to the fullest. Due to limited indoor space at our venue, we kindly ask that guests leave children at home, with the exception of immediate family members' children. We hope this will help create a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for all.
As a small gesture, we encourage parents to treat this as a special date night—take the opportunity to relax and enjoy an evening just for you! Thank you so much for your understanding and support. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
What if I can't attend?
If you can't attend, that is totally ok! We know our wedding is on a Friday and many of our guests still work or don't have enough PTO. If you aren't able to make the ceremony but will be here for the reception, please still RSVP! We would love to see you.
Can I take photos?
We are so excited to have you share in our special day. To ensure that everyone can fully enjoy the ceremony and we can have beautiful, uninterrupted moments, we kindly ask that no photos be taken during the ceremony. However, please feel free to take as many photos as you like during the reception—we’d love to see the night through your eyes!
Will there be alcohol?
Yes! The bride and groom will cover you up to a certain dollar amount. Once you pass that, you're on your own. We ask that you drink responsibly and have fun, we are not in charge of your hangover. For those of you who do not drink, there will be non-alcoholic beverages as well.
