Caley and Eli met counseling together at Wiregrass Christian Youth Camp in the summer of 2021. They first noticed one another at the staff meeting and soon began to spend all their free time together. As the week came to a close, Eli got Caley’s number and after camp ended, they began texting and talking on the phone nonstop. After a few weeks Eli asked Caley to meet him in Birmingham so they could spend the day together. The following weekend Eli went to Tuscaloosa to spend time with Caley while she was moving in at the University of Alabama. They went to the river where he then asked her to be his girlfriend.

Over the course of the next few months, Eli and Caley spent almost every weekend together even though he was in Florence and she was in Tuscaloosa. Over time, school and work became more pressing and they could no longer see each other regularly; however, they never wavered in their dedication to each other and their relationship. Eli and Caley always supported and encouraged each other from afar, allowing them to each achieve their goals.

In the years since they began dating, they have grown closer despite the distance and have worked to keep the Lord at the center of their relationship. While it was not always easy, through trust in God’s timing, they could not be more excited to be in the same place and start their new life together. After the wedding, Eli will be joining Caley in Mobile where she will be continuing to work on her MD at the University of South Alabama while he furthers his career in hospitality.
