Our Wedding

We met in the second trimester of ninth grade at Mullen High School in Mr. Dixon's keyboarding class. As you can imagine, keyboarding was not overly rigorous, so we spent much more time talking than typing and became fast friends. Our high school years are full of cherished memories of school dances, "long" commutes from Denver to Littleton, and building the foundations of our relationship. College brought four years of long-distance as Mark studied at Boston College and Cali at the University of Colorado. We loved visiting each other's schools and seeing the wonderful new lives we were building, but with a bit of clever scheming, we spent our Junior spring as classmates at University College Dublin. We had the time of our lives exploring Europe on the weekends and spending our weeknights sharing in conversation over pints of Guinness in the pubs of Dublin. We are thrilled to celebrate our wedding with you in a place so dear to our hearts. Since graduating, we have moved to Boston, to Denver, and back to Boston again, we adopted our pup Tate, and On April 21, 2023, Mark proposed to Cali on Nauset Beach on Cape Cod! Our 10 years together have been incredible. We are so grateful for the love and support you have provided us along the way, and we are so excited to kick off this next chapter of our lives with you all!

We do not have a room block but will organize shuttles to and from the castle on Saturday. If you do not wish to take the shuttles, cabs and Uber are available, and the folks at Luttrellstown can help you call one home if need be. We will set exact shuttle pickup/drop off locations based on where most guests end up staying. Our general recommendations are below, but please know Dublin is a small city and it’s quick and easy to navigate on foot or via Ubers, Taxis, or Busses. You can also get a <a href="https://about.leapcard.ie/leap-visitor-card" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Visitor Leap Card</a> for unlimited access to public transit during your stay. You can easily get taxis or ubers from the airport, or book on the <a href="https://www.aircoach.ie/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Aircoach</a> shuttle to get into the city. It usually takes 25-30 minutes to get to and from the airport if you go direct and 45-60 via shuttle. In DublinWe recommend staying in Dublin! We suggest staying south of the River Liffey, so you are closer to House Dublin for the Welcome and The Kennedy Pub on Sunday. Friday and Sunday's events will take place in Dublin 2, which is also home to popular sites like St Stephens green, Grafton St, Temple Bar, and all of our favorite pubs. There are many Airbnb and boutique hotel options in this area. In CastleknockIf you would prefer to be closer to the venue, the Castleknock Hotel is just a few minutes down the road from both the church and the castle. <a href="https:" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Castleknock Hotel</a> Luttrellstown is conveniently located just 20 minutes for the Dublin airport and 30 minutes from the city center.

In Dublin

Activities

-The National Museum's are all free to the public! The National Gallery, Natural History, and Archeology Museums are all lovely.-<a href="https://www.guinness-storehouse.com/en/home?gad_source=1&amp;ds_rl=1298936&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiApNW6BhD5ARIsACmEbkWp4LqkMwEsACLyPTL1l3OYUmVZFeassQUZjqUirseiphsL_OjBTusaAh6_EALw_wcB&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Guinness Store House</a>: book your tour in advanced to ensure entry. It is more of a museum than a brewery tour but is great fun, and ends with free pints in their rooftop bar!<a href="https://www.jamesonwhiskey.com/en-ie/visit-our-distilleries/jameson-bow-street-distillery-tour/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">-The Jameson Distillery: </a>book your tour in advanced to ensure entry. This interactive tour is a great way to learn more about whiskey. They also offer tastings and cocktail making classes.-<a href="https://www.rome2rio.com/s/Dublin/Howth" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Cliff walk at Howth</a>: if you choose to stay in Dublin but want to see some cliffs, Howth is a small fishing village just under 40 minutes outside the city on the DART. You can walk along the cliffs, get ice cream, fish n' chips, or pints!-<a href="https://irishwhiskeymuseum.ie/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Whiskey Museum</a>-<a href="https://www.visittrinity.ie/book-of-kells-experience/?gad_source=1&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQiApNW6BhD5ARIsACmEbkWO3L2_o0EvN_wNNDUJRsP_y8K5otox8R_9HppHoCVJxRiamzDCTs0aArTNEALw_wcB" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Trinity Library and Book of Kells</a>: Trinity is right in the city center and a beautiful school to stroll through! The trinity library is beautiful and historic, and the home of the Book of Kells!-Shop on Grafton Street and walk through St. Stevens Green: Grafton is the best place to see buskers and street performers. After you shop, walk through Stevens Green - a beautiful park!-Temple Bar Area- The Temple Bar is Dublins most famous (great photo-op spot), and the street it is on is full of pubs and shops. Do know this area is geared toward tourist, so you may end up paying slightly higher prices.-<a href="https://www.phoenixpark.ie/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Phoenix Park</a>: located on the edge of the city center, it is one of the largest city parks in Europe! PUBS AND BARS

There is no shortage of Pubs and Pints in Dublin! All are lovely, these are just our personal favorites. -O'Donoghues: They have 2 locations but the one on Merrion Row is our very favorite! Here you can always find a friendly crowed and often live music.-Doyles: located across the street from Trinity. If you happen to be in Dublin on Tuesday night, they do small concerts called "Ruby Sessions" that are worth checking out.-Hairy Lemon: Located just off of Grafton street. This pub is a little pricier, but is a good place for a meal and live music.-Brazen Head: Famous for being the oldest pub in Dublin!-The Landmark: Located on the end of Camden St, which is full of great pubs, the Landmark is a great stop whether you are pub crawling or staying all night.-The Bleeding Horse: A bit of a larger pub if you are looking for a bit more elbow room! For those who may be interested in later nights, louder music, and livelier crowds our recommendations are below. -Dicey's Garden: Mark and Cali could be found here every Monday night in 2019. Dance inside, or enjoy their heated patio! Dicey's does often have a cover charge.-Copperface Jacks: This is the true nightclub of Dublin. Located next door to Diceys on Harcourt street.-Flannery's: This is our favorite! They always have either live music or a DJ making it a fun place to go dancing. Located on Camden street, Flannery's is also ideally positioned for late night food ;)-DTwos: Also on Harcourt St, DTwos has a nice indoor bar, a very unique beer garden, and a downstairs nightclub.-Wow Burger: With locations all over the city and late night hours, finish off your night out with their famous garlic fries!

-Centra convenient stores are home to the Irish delicacy- The Chicken Fillet Roll. They offer a range of full day or half day bus trips to some of the most popular places like Galway/The Cliffs of Moher, Belfast/Giants Causeway, Cork, or the Wicklow Mountains! Getting Around

Dublin is relatively small and flat city, so it is very walkable! Additionally you can take Ubers, Taxis, or Busses around the city. You can easily get taxis or ubers from the airport, or book on the <a href="https://www.aircoach.ie/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Aircoach</a> shuttle to get into the city. It usually takes 25-30 minutes to get to and from the airport if you go direct and 45-60 via shuttle. Shuttles will be provided for guests on Saturday! Specific pick up times and locations will be posted at a later date, and will also be posted at the Welcome party on Friday!
