I met Caleb at the beginning of my second year at Anderson University. I remember playing sand volleyball and Caleb joined us. He was not on my team, but I definitely thought he was cute and started crushing on him. I did not think I would ever actually talk to him, but he made friends with my friends so we ended up hanging out a lot. Things between us progressed slowly, very slowly. He was my boyfriend in my head before it was actually official. Everybody knew I had a crush on Caleb... except for Caleb. I went back and forth for a while trying to decide if he liked me back. After what felt like forever, on February 11th, 2022 Caleb officially asked me to be his girlfriend... and I said yes.
In the couple years we dated, we went on lots of dates and made many memories. Some of my favorite dates include Hocking Hills, the zoo, fishing, hikes, sunsets, Lego Star Wars on the Wii, and mini golf. Somewhere along those lines we fell in love. I knew I wanted to get married May of 2025, and I definitely let him know that. Caleb would always say maybe, but also talked about wanting to wait another year. He started to have me convinced that he was not going to propose the summer of 2024.
Apparently, I met Callie playing volleyball before school even started. That memory does not exist in my brain, so my story starts a couple weeks later when I actually found out this girl existed. The first thing I remember that had anything to do with Callie was Uno. We were around each other a lot. We played intramurals together, ate meals together, played games in our dorms and much more. Over time I definitely started to catch feelings for this crazy girl.
I am not quite sure when I figured out I liked Callie. But, that winter we officially started dating. Over the course of the past couple years, if engineering gave me a break, my time was spent with her. I have shared a lot of things with Callie. Things like my food, my clothes, and my personal space... not willingly. But also my feelings, my trust, and my time, very willingly. The past couple years flew by, and quickly our dreams became reality.
The summer of 2024 Caleb drove to Anderson to visit Callie for her birthday. It was during that weekend they went hiking at the Indiana Sand Dunes National Park. Their last hike dead ended into Lake Michigan. It was a big surprise to Callie when he proposed there on the beach on June 29th, 2024... and of course, she said yes!
