A little context to our story, Matt was my neighbor (three doors down) and we lived by each other for about a year before ever meeting.

One night the electricity went out, only in our section of row houses. Out of curiosity we all stepped outside and was like what the heck is going on. After a bit of no electricity, Matt's roommate invited me over to sit by the fire with them until the electricity came back on (yes, a fire at the end of June. Blows this Texas girls mind too). Hours went by, Matt and I were lost in conversation even after the electricity came back on. The night ended, Matt got my number to invite me to tag along with him and his friends when they did stuff since I did know many people in Pittsburgh.

Fast forward about a week, I texted Matt joking around about accidentally hitting his new Jeep. (Matt would say this was me trying to make a move. I would say I just wanted an invite to do something haha). After a constant week of texting, we hung out and then from there it was every single day we were doing something together. Whether it was having dinner at the park during sunset, sitting on Karl's roof over looking the city, taking Matt to a secret lookout of the city that I found, nights by the fire, or putting IKEA furniture together. (Matt would say these were all dates and I would say no. But now I'm thinking he may be right).

The thing that struck us both and tied us together instantly was the talk of God and deep conversations of intentionally dating.

We began our relationship and instantly we both grew closer to God by attending church weekly and joining a relationship small group at the church at the time. We both got baptized together and still just continuously grow our faith and grow closer by being a team. We both decided to start doing Dave Ramsey together and we continuously do study plans or read books that teaches us how to grow closer, overcome past trauma, how to effectively work as a team, and most importantly keeping God at the center focus of our relationship.

The amount of growth our relationship has experienced has been mind blowing for the both of us. Maybe 2 months into the relationship we both knew we wanted to marry each other.

The day I said yes to spending forever with the man that unconditionally loves me no matter what. The first person to make me truly feel loved and wanted. God's timing has been at play every single step of the way in our relationship. I have no doubt that this is all of part of God's plan.
