The airport you will want to arrive to is the Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa International Airport (ZIH).
Those of you flying out of Minneapolis, the only direct flight is on Sun Country and they fly to ZIH on Wednesdays and Sundays.
If you are flying in from somewhere else or are looking to fly through a different airline, almost all major airlines fly into ZIH.
There are lots of beautiful places to stay in both Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo, including home/condo rentals and all-inclusive hotels.
Ixtapa go to Hotels include: Barceló, Holiday Inn, Tesoro, & Park Royal.
Don’t worry if your hotel is not walking distance from the venue; we plan on having shuttles running to and from hotels and the venue and taxis are readily available almost everywhere and are very reasonably priced.

Bay View Grand is a great option for a place to stay during your vacation. This is the resort where our family typically stays, the resort has privately owned condos that can be reserved through Airbnb, VRBO, Home Escape, Best Properties, or another rental website.

A valid passport is required for travel into Mexico. It can take up to 10 weeks to get a new or renew an expired/expiring passport, so make sure to get everything in order with plenty of time prior to your departure date.
Additionally, if you have an existing passport that is expiring 6 months or less prior to your vacation it is best to order a new one before your trip.
As some of you may find during your search for places to stay, the US Department of State reports a no-travel advisory for the state of Guerrero. Please note that Guerrero is a very large state, and during our time in Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo we have never felt unsafe. If you have further concerns about this feel free to reach out!
