Where will the ceremony and reception be taking place?
We are very excited to have the opportunity to have our wedding at Callie's parents farm in St. Marys!
How do I get to the farm?
Navigation is always great at getting you directly to the farm, and we will have signs out on the road to assist as well. You will want to make sure to get off on EXIT 56 for Indianola/Winterset!! There is a music festival going on at the next exit and we don't want you to get stuck in traffic.
What are some tips for a farm wedding?
Our special day is not going to be a traditional walk down the aisle kind of wedding. The ceremony will be outside in the backyard overlooking the countryside and the reception will be in a tent.
We have thought about a few details we wanted to pass along to you....
August might be hot .... the ceremony will be in the sun but there will be shade for the reception
Heels are not advised ..... walking in the grass would be a challenge if you were to wear heels that would sink in the grass.
Wind is a possibility ..... a dress with a lot of flowing fabric might make a frustrating evening.
Plan to have fun during the cocktail hour ..... yard games, horses and goats to feed snacks, take a stroll around the pond or sit on the dock and enjoy the view.
What happens after the ceremony?
The bride and groom will be taking pictures so you are welcome to head over to the tent to find your seat and meet with everyone or explore the farm! There will be yard games, feeding stations for the horses and goats, and you are always welcome to take a walk around the pond!
What food will be served?
We are very excited to have a wood fire pizza truck at our reception! There will be multiple options of pizza along with a salad and breadsticks. Later on there will be a dessert bar as well.
What drinks will be available?
Water and lemonade will be available through out the entire evening. An open bar will be available after the ceremony and will switch to a cash bar later in the evening. A selection of wine, beers and a signature drink will be available. The last call will be at 10:30 allowing everyone to drive home safely on the country roads.
Can I bring a date?
We have a strict guest list to fit for sizing of the tent. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation.
Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
We would love if you tagged us in any pictures you took for our big day! The only thing we ask is please no photos during the ceremony. We love our photographers work and want to make sure we have an unplugged ceremony so you have the opportunity to watch and so she can take the best pictures for us!
