The first time Callie and Tyler met was at the Montgomery trap field. They were both members of the high school trap team, but they were never actually introduced to each other until that night. They shot on different squads that evening, but they admired each other's company. Later that night, Tyler sent Callie a friend request on Facebook which she accepted.

After a couple years, Tyler and Callie met again at a friend's house while Tyler was fixing his truck. Callie saw Tyler was alone but very focused on repairing the friends pickup. She decided to walk over and ask him what he was doing. Tyler had told Callie that his water pump was leaking and explained how the cooling system on a truck worked, overexplaining everything, like he typically does. They continued to talk the entire night. For the next couple of weeks, Tyler and Callie would talk on the phone or text quite frequently. On May 1st, 2017, Tyler asked Callie to be his girlfriend, and Callie gladly accepted!

Fast forward: almost 7 years later, the New Prague Archery Club had their state tournament in Duluth, Minnesota. Callie is an active coach in archery and was helping the elementary kids with their final tournament of the 2023 season. Tyler had come along to support the archery team as well, but this time he had different intentions... After the tournament, Callie and Tyler went to the Great Lakes Aquarium, where they walked around to see all the unique exhibits. Callie was in awe at all the live animals and reading every informational sign about the different sturgeons, otters, and so many fish. All the while, Tyler wanted the date to get wrapped up. After ending the tour in the gift shop, they walked together along the pier. When it was just the two of them, Tyler got down on one knee and asked Callie to marry him, and again, Callie gladly accepted!
