Calvin and Clarissa’s story begins in 2007, at League City Intermediate School (Middle School). They were introduced by a mutual friend and from that moment Calvin had the biggest crush of his life on Clarissa. Text messages, instant messages, phone calls, and emojis all were passed between the two until 2010 while they were attending Clear Creek High School when Calvin devised a plan to ask her to be his girlfriend at Fun City Skating Rink. It was Clarissa’s 16th birthday and in order to pull this off Calvin had to sneak out, got pulled over for speeding and also stayed past his curfew but in the end, it was a success so he couldn’t care less about the repercussions.

In late 2024, Calvin had worked with Clarissa’s family to plan his engagement attempt unbeknownst to her. It took careful planning to get things into place without her knowing and it wasn’t easy for anyone involved to keep the secret. Everyone, including Calvin, wanted to scream it from the roof tops.

The proposal took place at Clarissa’s Grandmother’s house for a party. Naturally, there was a piñata, and this is where Calvin thought of his grand plan on how to pull this off. All the children had had their turns swinging at the pinata and there was just 1 hit left – Calvin got everyone to chant for Clarissa to finish off the piñata. She swung at it like Derek Jetter and with one fell swoop the pinata fell and that’s when Calvin saw the opportunity to pretend like he was picking up candy -only for him to present the ring to Clarissa.
