Calvin and Renee met at the beginning of their senior year at CWRU. They started dating in October of 2018 and within a matter of months knew they had something that would last a lifetime. Their families quickly realized that what they had was something special. Between the support from their families and many mutual friends, their relationship blossomed into what it is today. By the end of March 2019, Calvin received the Decker's blessing to marry Renee. They officially began their journey to marriage on April 21st, 2019 when Calvin proposed to Renee at Lakewood Park in front of the setting sun. Since then, they have moved to Columbus together where Calvin has started his PhD in Physics at OSU and Renee her career in Environmental Health and Safety at Hexion. They have been blessed to parent two beautiful cats, Pumba and Paisley, and look forward to some day having children of their own. Through their journey, which has been admittedly quicker than most, they have been boundlessly grateful for the immense love and support that their family and friends have provided. Calvin and Renee were married on August 1st, 2020 in a small ceremony in Renee's hometown. They are excited to be able to fully celebrate with family and friends at the original venue August 21, 2021!
