Camden and Brett had both been looking for love on an online Christian dating app called “Upward” While Brett had recently downloaded app, Camden was becoming discouraged. On Valentines Day her sadness escalated, even though she was encouraged by her friends and family, she still yearned to find someone. After leaving work, Camden prayed earnestly that God would not let her be alone. It was after Camden left to go home from teaching a children’s club that same day that she got a message from Brett.

Brett was different from those who previously messaged her. He seemed genuine in his passion for Christ and his desire to find a marriage partner. They soon began to call on the phone for hours every night, talking about anything and everything. The two realized that they had to see each other, and planned to meet at the park much to their families horror. Gladly the date was a success and another date was quickly set in none other than Old Ellicott City.

On their second date they began to warm up more to each other, as Camden found the courage to hold his hand that night. After the date, she was asked if she wanted to attend a birthday party for one of his siblings, to which she accepted the offer.

March 3rd, 2023

While on the phone with one another, Camden asked how she would be introduced to his family. Brett asked, “Well, how would you like to be introduced?” to which Camden replied, “Your girlfriend.”

This year was full of holidays, family functions, birthdays, adventures and so much more. Before they knew it, a whole year had already flown by. To celebrate their one year anniversary, they had gone out to dinner and visited their second date spot, Old Ellicott City. Camden was sure that Brett was going to propose in Ellicott City that day. She was discouraged when they left and he failed to do so. On their way back to Camdens house, Brett had pulled into the park where they had slow danced one night early into their relationship. A beautiful proposal was set up by his family in which Camden happily said yes.
