It all began at Olentangy Liberty High School. Cam was the baseball guy, and Abby was Mitchell’s sister.


On our junior year spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, there was sun, baseball, and a little unexpected spark. Our “talking” stage officially kicked off and turned into dating by May. But between baseball games, dance rehearsals and the looming reality of long-distance college life, our high school romance came to an end. (Yes, Abby broke Cam’s heart over ice cream at the Powell UDF. Brutal.)


But don’t worry—this story has a comeback.


A couple of years later, baseball brought us back together. In the summer of 2017, we reunited over a Columbus Clippers game just before heading back to school—Abby to OU and Cam to UVA. Then came the now-legendary trip to Pittsburgh. Abby and her friend Biz went to watch Cam play and literally as they sat down, Cam hit a home run. Coincidence? We think not. (Abby always claimed to be Cam’s good luck charm.)


That weekend was full of baseball, cheesecake, and laughs. On the drive home, Abby cried to Biz about already missing Cam (yes, really). She confessed her feelings to him later that night, and the next trip—this time to Charlottesville, VA—was in the works.


From there, things got serious. We spent weekends and summer breaks crisscrossing the country- Virginia, New York, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Montana—you name it, Abby was there in the stands (and scouting out the best local food spots). Those trips turned into memories we’ll never forget.


Fast forward six years to October 2023, and we found ourselves back in Charlottesville—this time, getting engaged in the very city where our second chapter began. Turns out, it was always meant to be.
