Cameron is originally from Kansas and moved to the Twin Cities in Minnesota in 2000. She went to Prior Lake-Savage high school and went on to college at Winona State, where she graduated in 2020 with her Bachelor's of Nursing Sciences. She moved to Rochester in the hopes to work at Mayo Clinic, but (thankfully) that didn't end up working out and she now works at Olmsted Medical Center and loves what she does as a clinic nurse.

Jake is originally from Hudson, Wisconsin, where he graduated from Hudson high school. After that, he joined the Army reserves, where he served 8 years as wheeled vehicle mechanic at the rank of Sergeant. He now works at Camping World as a technician and loves that he is able to spend his time doing mechanic work again but now uses that skill fixing campers.

They matched on a dating app called Hinge "The app that's meant to be deleted" in 2019. When they exchanged phone numbers, Cameron told Jake that he had the wrong number, but after a few minutes she gave up on the joke. They met for the first time in 2020, and the first thing Cameron ever said in person to Jake was "I thought you would be taller" (Jake is 6'2").

After that, there was the peak of Covid starting in March of 2020. Cameron had originally planned to move to South Carolina after nursing school, but due to Covid, her plans to move got delayed and eventually cancelled altogether. During the outbreak, they were able to spend a lot of time together in between working, with Cameron driving down to Menomonie, Wisconsin to see him, and Jake driving up to Rochester to see her. They started officially dating on March 22nd, 2020.

6 months after they started dating, Jake was deployed to Kuwait for 10 months. They stayed in touch with texting, phone calls, and doing FaceTimes as much as they could. By the time Jake returned, his old apartment lease was up and he moved in with Cameron.

After that, they rented a home on the South side of Rochester, where Cameron worked nights at a nursing home and Jake worked at his job as a parts manager and technician during the day.

After a year of living in their rental, they bought a house on the North side of Rochester, close to both of their jobs. They got legally married at the court house on their lunch breaks on Monday, December 4th, 2023.

Which brings us to now. We got a lot of pets along the way, we got new jobs and made new friends. We spend most of our time at home, with the dogs, which is perfect since we are both home-bodies. Cameron likes to read her horror books and watch The Office on repeat, and Jake likes to spend time with the dogs and play his video games. We have the life we've always dreamed of, and it makes us so happy to finally celebrate being married and share that experience with our family and friends.

And they lived happily ever after.
