Our Wedding

Our story is a classic case of “when you know, you know,” and a testament to the Lord’s love, grace, and provision. It was February of 2024. I was at the end of my rope with the never ending let-down of the current dating scene. In my parent’s living room one evening, with my mom and siblings, we were talking about the changes I can make in order to put myself in the place to meet someone, get married, have babies… or in other words, find someone to build a life with. Out of the blue, my brother-in-law Bailey says, “have you ever thought about Cameron Loos?”... the answer was no.. no I hadn’t. The name was familiar, I had seen him for the first time when I was a 7th grader playing volleyball at Hockinson Middle School, and he became more relevant over the years as my family moved to Hockinson and became involved in Hockinson sports. When he won the State Championship wrestling tournament in 2016, my dad had been there and just happened to see his match. Little did I know at the time, Cameron was right down the road (2.5 miles to be exact) experiencing similar feelings.&nbsp; Bailey called up his brother-in-law and Cameron’s brother, Jordan, to ask if Cam was single and interested in meeting anyone. Jordan gave Cam a call to relay the question and pass along my number if he was interested. Apparently he was, because the next afternoon I received a text from Cameron asking me out for a date that Saturday. Cam gave me the option for dinner or bowling. Naturally, I chose bowling.&nbsp; Cam’s first impression of me was that I was tall. “I thought you must have been a model or a basketball player.” My first impression was that he was sweet and warm, and had dimples that could have killed me! Within probably five minutes of picking me up, Cameron asked me “what are you looking for?” I answered with, “a husband, duh.” I returned the question and he answered with, “a wife.” That was that.&nbsp; Towards the end of our date, I (stupidly) said to Cameron “if it doesn’t work out with us I have lots of single friends I can set you up with.” Unbeknownst to me, this offhand comment shattered his heart, because at that point he had already made the decision that he was going to marry me… or die trying. Typically a very hard sell, there was something I was so drawn to in Cameron. He was beyond kind, humble, confident but not arrogant, honest, and thoughtful. Although I accidently ruffled a few feathers, we ended up going out the next day. I thought I was being the most open I’ve ever been, but Cam still couldn’t get a read on me. Our third date was Valentine’s Day. I’m pretty sure my heart was stolen that evening when the most handsome man I had ever seen showed up to my apartment with a battery for my dead key fob. A simple gesture that meant so much to a girl that can’t manage to complete simple tasks. Since the day we met, Cameron has lavished his love on me in the most extravagant, and also the simplest of ways. Cracking my heart right open and showing me consistent, patient, maturing, and unconditional love. There was never much question about if we would be together. We both knew it from the beginning. We easily became a team and each other’s best friend.&nbsp; Since I was young, I have been praying for the man I would eventually marry. As I look back, there is absolutely no doubt that the ebbs and flows of each of our lives were the guidance of the Lord bringing us together and the invisible thread He wove into our story. I am so thankful that the Lord saw fit for Cam and I to become husband and wife.&nbsp; I am so excited to, on June 28th, tie my life forever to my life’s greatest blessing. My sweet baby &lt;3
