Well, this story started a long time ago. Matthew and Cameron have actually known each other since high school. Despite living in two different towns, one going to a public school, and the other going to a private school, Matthew and Cameron’s paths crossed through their mutual friend, Cade Landeche. Cameron and Cade were childhood friends while Cade and Matt became best friends at Jesuit.

After high school, Matthew and Cameron’s paths diverged as they both went to separate colleges. On occasion, they would run into each other at LSU games, but not much ever came from it. After college, Matthew decided to stay in Baton Rouge for law school and became classmates with Cameron’s brother, Slade. After a few more run-ins throughout the years, the spark was officially ignited on a quintessential, romantic encounter -- Red Dress Run 2018.

For almost a year and a half after that, Matt chased Cameron, and chased Cameron, and chased Cameron. Finally, on a September night in Austin, Texas, Matt decided he was done chasing and let Cameron know he made that decision. After that night, Matt and Cameron’s communication stopped and the chase seemed to, finally, be over.

A few months later, Matt invited Cameron’s brother, Slade, on a hunting trip, and Cameron (conveniently) decided to also take a trip to New Orleans that weekend. During this meetup, Cameron realized she would always regret not pursuing Matt and giving their relationship a chance. She had a lot of convincing to do to get Matt to be open to the idea again, but he eventually agreed. After that weekend, the two spent every weekend together building their relationship over long distance. They quickly realized that this was better than they could have imagined, and they have been preparing for their life together ever since.
