Cameron and Ashley first met in July of 2021, when Cameron—working as a real estate agent—helped Ashley find an apartment in Chicago. They hit it off right away, and he jokingly promised to take her to Au Cheval if she signed a lease with him. Neither of them could have predicted that the apartment search would eventually lead to getting down on one knee.

A few weeks later, Ashley’s best friends visited from California for Lollapalooza. Cameron, claiming he had friends attending too (he didn’t), ended up joining their crew for all four days.

Today, they live together in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago with their French Bulldog, Franklin, and their rescue cat, Finn, who they adopted from NAWS in Mokena, IL. In their free time, they love cooking together, checking out new restaurants (though they usually end up back at favorites like Leavitt Street Inn, Cheba Hut, and Avec), and hanging out with close friends on the weekends. Cameron spends a lot of time golfing and playing music, while Ashley is happy to ride along with a good book in hand.

Together, they’ve traveled to Italy, Mexico, Banff and return each year to Folly Beach—always adding new destinations to their list. Over the years, Cameron has come around to the magic of a real Christmas tree, and Ashley has fully accepted that Lou Malnati’s sausage deep dish is now a permanent part of their lives.
