Our Wedding

Our first date was on April 25, 2020, right in the middle of a pandemic, so we couldn't go anywhere indoors. We decided to meet in West Hartford at Fenn Park. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the park was the perfect setting for our first meeting. We walked around, enjoying the fresh air and each other's company. Despite the challenges of the time, our connection felt natural and effortless. That sunny day at Fern Park marked the beginning of our wonderful journey together, and its a memory we'll always cherish.

It is the&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_shopping_malls_in_Pennsylvania" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">largest shopping mall in Pennsylvania</a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_shopping_malls_in_the_United_States" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">fourth-largest shopping mall in the United States</a>&nbsp;in terms of&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gross_leasable_area" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">gross leasable area</a>. It is an upscale mall with 450 retailers.

Valley Forge National Historical Park&nbsp;is the site of the third winter encampment of the&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_Army" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Continental Army</a>&nbsp;during the&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolutionary_War" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">American Revolutionary War</a>&nbsp;from December 19, 1777 to June 19, 1778. The National Park Service preserves the site and interprets the history of the Valley Forge encampment. The park contains historical buildings, recreated encampment structures, memorials, museums, and recreation facilities. Approximately 12,000&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continental_Army" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Continental Army</a>&nbsp;troops under&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Washington" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">George Washington</a>'s command were encamped at&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_Forge,_Pennsylvania" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Valley Forge</a>&nbsp;from December 19, 1777 to June 19, 1778. After British&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Howe,_5th_Viscount_Howe" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">General Howe</a>&nbsp;captured the American capitol of&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Philadelphia</a>, Washington chose the site for the encampment because it was between the&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Army_during_the_American_Revolutionary_War" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">British</a>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Continental_Congress" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Second Continental Congress</a>&nbsp;in&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/York,_Pennsylvania" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">York</a>, as well as supply depots in&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reading,_Pennsylvania" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Reading</a>. At the same time, Valley Forge was far enough from Philadelphia to make a British surprise attack unlikely, but close enough that Continental forces could scout enemy positions and prevent them from foraging the countryside.

The Wharton Esherick Museum&nbsp;is the home and workshop of&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wharton_Esherick" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Wharton Esherick</a>&nbsp;(1887–1970), an American artist and designer. Though Esherick worked in a wide range of art media, he is best known for his wood furniture, which married modernist sculptural form with functional craft. The Museum is located on the south slope of Valley Forge Mountain in&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malvern,_Pennsylvania" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Malvern, Pennsylvania</a>, twenty-five miles northwest of&nbsp;<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philadelphia" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Philadelphia</a>. It is the most fully realized expression of Esherick's vision for integrating art into the spaces of everyday life.
