BOLIVIA

Yes, queen, Bolivia is a landlocked country, but no beach, no problem. We´ve got awesome things to do anyway!

If you´d like professional help to plan your trip, contact Rodrigo from Magri Turismo (my friend's uncle), they will have to help plan your trip!

Santa Cruz

Starting with the city where the main event is taking place. FYI: It's not Santa Cruz, California, or Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain.

✨ Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia ✨

You will most likely go to the city centre at some point for ice cream and the hottest stroll of your life, these are other places you can visit are:

- Güembe, a resort where you can stay, but you can also buy a day pass and have a drink by the pool and go see butterflies and other cool birds.

- Samaipata, a lovely town, 3-hour drive or so, from Santa Cruz, if you go, we´d recommend staying there for a night at least to enjoy nature.

- Porongo, a lovely classic old little town with delicious food really nearby, 30-minute drive.

-The dunes, it is a quick 20-minute drive. We can take a singular sandboard my friend owns and do sandboarding!

The Amazon

The Amazon is a big place, you can visit Trinidad, Rurrenabaque, or one of Cami´s fave, Flotel Reina de Enin. It is a boat that tours through the Amazon River, where you see wild monkeys, capibaras, crocodiles and pink dolphins. You can fish pirañas and have them for dinner (actually real yum). It is an amazing experience to say the least.

Sucre

Fun fact: Bolivia has two capitals (let´s not argue). The first capital of Bolivia is Sucre! A short flight from Santa Cruz, and there are plenty of beautiful hotels to stay at. A popular one, and for a good reason is Parador Santa Maria la Real.

There is a high chance our friend Fran (the hottie pictured below) will be there. Hit her up for the best facts and walking tours (she´s not a tour guide she´s just a local whose great-great-grandfather happens to be one of Bolivia´s presidents). As a reward, take her to Kultur Berlin Bar.

La Paz

Bolivia´s second capital. Cami´s hometown. High, high, high altitude. Just beware of that if you´re going! 3600 meters above sea level, whatever ft that is. A chaotic city that just works as it is, eat at Popular Cocina Bolivia after getting your souvenirs around La Sagarnaga, or make your way to Ancestral.

You can visit El Valle de la Luna, or take the cable cars around the city. You can watch the Cholitas Wrestling or take a short bus (a 3-hour drive really) to Copacabana-Lake Titicaca, you can eat fresh Trout, and if you dare, hike up the Calvary for sick views. We almost died but it was worth and here we are! From Copacabana, you can visit La Isla del Sol and stay at our friend Lali´s eco-lodge, Eco Lodge La Estancia (contact Magri Turismo for this!).

The Salt Flats

One of our favorite places in this world. You can fly to Uyuni, and hire a 3-day tour around the salt flats and mountains, do not forget to check Google Reviews (we didn´t, imagine absolute chaos, that is how our 3-day tour went).

If you want to stay at a nice hotel, where the walls and beds are made of salt bricks check Palacio de Sal.

Pictured below, our broken car, but still to this day one of our favorite trips evah.

Bolivia is unique, and there are even more places we´d like you to see. As we said, if you can only make it for 3-4 days we will make them count. On the other hand, we hope we convinced you to see more.

Ready to finally RSVP?
