Our story began at St George Greek Orthodox Church in August of 2005. Athan was four and Millie was three years old. Growing up there was always some competition. Whether it was from sprinting to the door first, penalty kicks in the backyard, football routes, etc. During those times, our friendship grew but there was always something a little more. Although we might have been too stubborn to realize it then, we knew that one day it would hopefully lead to this. As people say, distance makes the heart grow fonder, which is exactly what happened between us. Being apart for a while made us realize that we needed each other. We stayed in contact the best we could but the times we got to see each other felt like nothing ever changed, and nothing would ever change. During the start of our third year of college, one Sunday afternoon we took a walk around the church and Athan asked me to go on a date. We both knew doing this would mean being in it for the long run. Throughout our two years of dating, we have gotten to experience the joy of getting to know more about each other, tons of ice cream dates, spontaneous road trips, Facetime calls every night, and most importantly growing together in our faith. On March 12th in City Park New Orleans, Athan got down on one knee, and thanks to Christ, we are here to celebrate the marriage between the two of us. There is nothing more exciting than getting to marry someone who you have always loved:)
