Our Story

As she was searching for a new place to live, Camille stumbled upon a quaint little townhouse in Old Town Alexandria on a Craigslist room for rent ad. She contacted the individual who posted the ad to see if they could set up a time and date for her to tour the house. Little did she know she was emailing with her future husband… Fast forward to their first meeting a week later, Camille was very impressed by the townhome and one current tenant/tour guide in particular named Donny. He gave an unforgettable tour, where he ended up showing Camille the entire house except for the room she would actually be living in (It was later found out that he was distracted by the cute girl who came to see the house, and thus forgot the main reason she came to see the place). Fortunately, this did not deter Camille, and she moved into the townhouse a month later. For two and a half weeks, Donny and Camille bonded over Lord of the Rings and ice cream. Their conversations would start during their walks around Old Town and continued for hours on end in the hallway outside of their rooms at home. It didn’t take long before Donny was asking Camille out on an official date while on one of their infamous walks to get ice cream. And now, after two and a half years of dating, they are engaged and planning their wedding! Donny and Camille are so excited to have had such a loving and supportive family and friend group throughout their relationship and cannot wait to celebrate with everyone in November!

Hilton Mystic

The Hilton Mystic is where we have our discounted room block for the wedding. Please use the website and/or code above to book your room! Please note that the discounted rooms are only available until Wednesday, October 5. After this cutoff date, they will be released for guests to book at a regular price.

Alternative Accomodations

If you do not want to stay in the room block at Hilton Mystic, there are other hotels in the area that are located within 15 minutes of the wedding venue: Mystic Marriott Hotel and SpaResidence Inn by Marriott Mystic GrotonHyatt Place Mystic Hotel

Airbnb

If interested in an Airbnb, we recommend staying in two different locations. One is downtown Mystic, which is shown in the red circled area in the map below. Downtown Mystic is home to many bars, restaurants, and shops, and is completely walkable! It’s also where our welcome party and after party will be, so it’s a hopping destination :)

The second place we recommend booking an Airbnb in is New London, which is right across the river from our wedding venue and can be seen in the red oval in the map below. Very similar to downtown Mystic in charm and quaintness, there are a lot of options for Airbnbs there.

Traveling to Groton

If you decide to fly to Connecticut, there are two major airports that would be the most convenient to fly into: The first is the Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD) in Providence, RI. This airport is 42.7 miles away from the Hilton Mystic, which will take about 45 minutes to drive. The second airport is the Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, CT. It is 67.8 miles away from the Hilton Mystic, which will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive. For those that love the train (like us!), there is an Amtrak train station in New London, CT, which is 9.1 miles away and an 11 minute drive from the Hilton Mystic!

Would you love to visit the pizza shop that inspired the hit 1988 American rom-com drama? Then stop by downtown Mystic and grab a slice at Mystic Pizza!

If you're looking for a bar that is next to a golf course, has a great atmosphere, and where everybody knows your name (probably not yours specifically, but the locals at least), then this is the place to be!

This seafood lover's paradise not only has gorgeous water views, but it has delectable oyster soup that will keep you toasty-roasty warm in the crisp November weather.

Croissants? Check. Sticky buns? Check. Beautifully layered French pastries that will be so hard to dig into because you don't want to ruin their appearance but you absolutely need to try them? Check.
