Camille and Sam met on a helicopter pad in May of 2018. Yep, a helicopter pad. Camille was about to graduate high school, and Sam was a freshman at Wallace Community College. Camille and her friend were having a "picnic" on top of the helicopter pad near Sam's house one Friday night, and Sam was sent to check on them.

After their initial meeting, Sam got Camille's number and asked her out multiple times with no success. She was about to move off to Athens, Georgia for college, after all.

Later that summer, Camille and Sam served at the same local church camp together. Maybe it was the friendship that was cultivated that week or maybe it was Sam putting the moves on her (as he likes to say). Whatever it was, Sam finally got Camille to give him a chance.
