Matthew and I met July 4th, 2013 at a pool party in New Orleans, Louisiana. Since I didn't know anyone at the party besides my friend Shelby, I decided to sit on the edge of the pool and enjoy kicking my feet around in the water alone. The day was a beautiful, yet blindingly sunny one, so it was impossible to ignore the shadow of someone approaching me. As I turned to see who or what it could be, I met the eyes of a young man with a handsome, albeit slightly nervous smile. "Hi, I'm Matthew," he said with maybe a little too much confidence. Oh look, a typical LSU dork, I thought to myself as I greeted him with "Hi, my name is Camille." He sat beside me in the pool and tried to impress me by playing as cool as he could. I don't know if it was his disarming smile or the booze, but I felt the familiar tinges of interest as the day went on. Towards the end of the night the party moved to the roof to watch fireworks. Matthew and I sat next to each other and needless to say, that's when the real fireworks started.

After the party we continued to see each other for a couple of months until we went our separate ways. Over the course of a few years, our relationship was fading from my mind; however, on one random night as I was gearing up for an exciting deep-clean of my apartment, I received a text from Matthew: "I just drove by your house and honked!" Although I was surprised, I asked him if he'd like to meet up for drinks. We agreed to meet at my favorite bar in the whole entire world, The Delachaise. About fours years later on August 10th, 2019 Matthew took me back to that beautiful place located in the perfect city of New Orleans, Louisiana, got on one knee, pulled a Nerds candy box out of his pocket and asked me to be his weirdo for the rest of our lives (the Nerds box had his great-grandmother's ring in it.)

Now, here we are, looking forward to celebrating our love for each other with all of our favorite people. We can't wait to share this adventure with all of you, who have offered us support, friendship, and love on our journey.
