Avery and Camille met as freshmen at Mount Paran Christian School, quickly forming a friendship that lasted throughout high school. It wasn’t until the very end of their senior year in 2017 that they began dating, just as they were preparing for their next chapter. As they headed off to college, countless miles were driven between Athens and Milledgeville—made possible by Avery’s dad’s generous gas money contributions. Their time apart was filled with late-night phone calls, weekend road trips, and any excuse to see each other, no matter how brief. Along the way, Avery was there to cheer Camille on through nursing school, proudly attending her white coat ceremony as she took the next step toward her career. After four years of balancing school and making the most of every moment together, they proudly celebrated their college graduations in 2021. Through the years, their relationship has been built on traditions, adventures, and an appreciation for each other’s quirks. They’ve spent weekends dog-sitting for family and friends, going on walks, playing competitive pickleball matches, and indulging in their favorite desserts. Fall trips to Pawleys Island in South Carolina have become a special tradition, where they trade busy schedules for quiet beach days and time together by the ocean in Pawley's. Movie nights are a go-to favorite, but when Camille’s birthday comes around, Avery always makes sure it’s extra special—taking the day off work to celebrate with a hike up Kennesaw Mountain, a trip to the Georgia Aquarium, or whatever new plan she dreams up. And while their interests don’t always align (Camille’s love for the North Georgia State Fair has yet to win Avery over), they always find joy in experiencing things together, whether it’s a longtime tradition or something completely new. When the time was right, Avery planned a proposal in September of 2024 with the help of Camille’s sister and best friend, choosing a place close to her heart—her grandparents’ home, a spot filled with warmth, love, and countless cherished memories. Now, they look forward to their next adventure: building a home together, welcoming a golden retriever into their family, and embracing the beautiful journey of marriage.
