Even though we met in May 2011 on a Carnival Cruise it was not until the summer of 2012 that we had our first kiss in NYC and we had to wait four more months for our first date in November of that year. We made things official in December 2012 when Ryan visited Camille in Puerto Rico. It was clear then that we were meant for each other.

He knew what a big Harry Potter fan I am, so for the marriage proposal he bought a replica of a wand with invisible thread. He tied the ring with the invisible thread around the end of the wand. On our 4-year anniversary, he gave me the box and when I pulled out the wand the ring came right after, it looked like it was floating in the air. My reaction? Is this for real?!

Ryan had a job in Michigan, where he had lived for 2 years and decided it was time to move back to Pittsburgh to go to grad school at Pitt just days before I was matched at Torrance State Hospital for my pre-doctoral internship. It was magical how things came together so we could finally live in the same city.
