What should I wear?
We kindly ask that you dress formally for this wedding.
Ladies: Floor length or midi dresses. Please nothing white or primarily white. Please be aware that this wedding is in a Catholic church. While you don't need to dress like you are going to Sunday service, we do ask that there is no excessive cleavage or excessively high slits in gowns in respect of the venue.
Gentlemen: Tuxedos or Suits. A button down with a tie and blazer is okay. Please no denim, khakis, baseball caps, or simple collared shirts.
Can I bring my significant other?
While the couple wishes they could have everyone they know there on the big day, there are restraints to the guest count from the venue. If your significant other has been invited, it will be designated on the RSVP section of the invitation. Please do not bring anyone not designated in this section as we will only have seating for those indicated on your invitation.
Are the ceremony and reception in the same place?
No, the couple has chosen to have their ceremony at Christ the King Catholic Church. This is across the street from the entrance to Callaway and very convenient.
Should I be prepared for a full Catholic Mass?
No. While the ceremony is in a Catholic Church, the couple has chosen to forego a full mass as a large portion of our guest list are not catholic.
For our catholic guests, Christ the King will have mass as usual on Sunday morning at 10:30.
Is the wedding outside?
No. Both the cermony and reception will be primarily indoors. The reception area does have a lawn that guests will have full access to.
What time should I arrive to the cermony?
The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:00. Please arrive no later than 3:45 so that everyone can be seated. If you are not seated before the processional begins, you will not be allowed into the ceremony.
When is the RSVP deadline?
May 1. In order to accommodate our guests, please submit your RSVP by May 1. After May 1, you will be marked as declined.
Is it okay for me to take photos with my personal camera during the ceremony?
We ask that you please be fully present during the ceremony. This means no phones or cameras. There will be a professional photographer and we will share all of these photos with you once we receive them.
With that said, please document any and everything during our reception! We are doing our best to make sure everyone has a blast and we want to see all the fun you have!
We will be implementing a QR code system at the reception that you can upload all of your photos to so we can reminisce on the night!
Will there be alcohol?
In the spirit of the best night for their guests, the couple has opted into a full bar at the cocktail hour and reception.
While we want everyone to have a blast, we do ask that you be mindful of other guests at the resort and be cautious not to overdo it. While the ballroom will be a huge party, we want to make sure to be respectful of other guests and keep the rowdiness confined.
Is there a hotel block?
Yes! We have a discounted rate through Callaway Gardens for both rooms in the Lodge and Spa (the reception venue) and the cabins in the resort. Please see the travel tab for more information about booking.
Do I need to stay at the church after the ceremony?
We are so gracious that the church has allowed us to push our ceremony back to 4. With that said, we have a very harsh cutoff time. If you are the immediate family of the bride or groom please remain at the church after the send off so that we can quickly do family photos. If you are not a first cousin or grandparent of the bride or groom, you may head directly to Callaway for cocktail hour.
