We had our first in person date June 15th, 2022 at Gruene River Grill in Gruene, TX. The restaurant was lovely, the food was great, and our first drink together was the blackberry smash, which is now our signature cocktail. But we were both nervous and a little awkward. As we were leaving the restaurant we both felt like we hadn't spent enough time together, so we walked around Gruene a bit under the moonlight... shared a beer, shared a kiss, and shared a spark.

We broke a lot of beginning dating rules, ignoring the do's and don'ts. Instead we were trusting and genuine with each other with our conversations and time together.

On April 1st, 2023 we combined our households. This came with a lot of adjusting, learning, and growing. Jason has become a strong figure to Harley and Lily, daughters he's embraced as his own. And Candace is a loving presence to Justice, the son she always wanted, but never had. We've all learned from each other and strengthened our family by doing so.

At midnight on New Years Eve 2023, Jason proposed among a small group of friends in front of our home as fireworks lit up the sky!!

From early on we both have felt like puzzle pieces. Very different shapes that complete one picture. We both love art, music, the moon, the sky, unique things, simple things, inspiration, good food, and good whiskey.

We love each other for who we are completely... all the quirks, layers, awkwardness, weirdness. Somehow with the differences and similarities, we still fit just right. We celebrate each others interests and genuinely enjoy each others company. These qualities have permeated our continued story.

Our story is about two people that never thought they may love again, but in the end found their true soulmate and true love. The other half of each other's heart, the other piece of each other's puzzle...
