As much as it is the most beautiful island in the world (we're definitely not biased), ile de Ré is more than just a flight away.
For our international friends who are kindly flying in to celebrate with us, we recommend flying into Paris.
From there you can easily catch the train (TGV) down to La Rochelle, which is the closest city on the mainland. Conveniently, you can catch regular buses (Les Mouettes) from La Rochelle train station to a number of villages on the island!
Et voila! L'aventure commence....
For those who have rented cars or are driving down, getting around on the island is easy.
However, for the best experience of the island, we recommend renting bikes. The island is covered in cycling paths to get from village to village and all the beaches in between.
Small island + large number of guests + end of summer = hunger games of finding accommodation
Which is why we're sending this out early in the hopes that we can help out best we can to find everyone a comfy stay for the weekend.
The event will take place at Candice's childhood home, in Bois-Plage, so any of the hotels there will be within walking distance.
For those who are not afraid of a 10 minute bike ride (you can do it in 6 minutes when the wind is right and you've had two mojitos), hotels in Saint-Martin and La Couarde are also great options.
