Chance and Candice met online and started talking March of 2019. Chance was new to Iowa looking to meet new people and Candice was busy with school and in the middle of track season. Candice played hard to get and made Chance wait more than a month before they finally met. Their first time meeting in person was very awkward and Candice thought that would be it and she wouldn't hear from Chance again. But he texted her the next day and asked for a redo, she said okay. A few days later they had their first "official date" to Cheddar's in Coralville, it went much better than the first night they met. They found out they had a lot in common and had a bunch of common acquaintances. A week later Chance asked Candice to be his girlfriend, she said yes.

Chance proposed to Candice on July 2nd, 2020. He enlisted the advice of Jessi (Candice's sister) and the help of Rachel (Candice's best friend). With their help and advice he was able to pull off a surprise Candice was not expecting. He had set up a fake photo shoot for Rachel and her family out at Kent Park. While out at the park Rachel convinced Candice that she needed to take a picture with her and then she needed a picture with Candice and Chance. After Rachel's picture with the two of them she stepped aside and that's when Chance had his moment to propose. Of course Candice said YES!
