It all began in the most unexpected place—a chiropractor’s office. Both Russell and Mia were regular patients, each seeking relief for different reasons. Russell was on the mend from a car accident, while Mia was battling years of persistent neck and back pain. Their chiropractor, a social and matchmaking enthusiast, took a particular interest in their personal lives during their sessions. As fate would have it, the chiropractor discovered that both Russell and Mia were single and navigating the challenges of dating. Seeing potential, he became determined to play cupid. With Russell’s consent, the chiropractor snapped a few pictures of him and sent them to Mia on February 26, 2021, via Facebook Messenger. Along with the photos, he included an enthusiastic endorsement: “Great job. Educated. Skinny. Great-looking guy. In shape and nice. No kids, yet.” Mia was initially taken aback but admitted she found Russell attractive. Two days later, the chiropractor confidently told Mia, “Russell is going to be your future husband.” Meanwhile, the chiropractor informed Russell of Mia’s interest. With her permission, he passed along her contact information. On March 2, 2021, Russell sent Mia a text introducing himself, and their connection began to unfold. Since the COVID-19 pandemic was still in full swing, they opted for a virtual first date on March 7, 2021. They decided to cook the same meal—grilled chicken breast, asparagus, and rice—and enjoyed hours of conversation while watching&nbsp;Coming to America 2. Despite the physical distance, the connection was instant and undeniable. Just a few days later, on March 10, 2021, they met in person for the first time at the chiropractor’s office during their scheduled appointments. That evening, they shared their first dinner date at Old Chicago. They talked for hours, diving deep into their interests, future goals, and what they were looking for in a partner. The date was so engaging that Mia ended up running late to a board meeting—a sign of how effortlessly time flew by when they were together. As their relationship blossomed, Russell and Mia made things official on June 27, 2021. Over the years, they faced and overcame numerous challenges together. When Mia took a travel art therapy job in Burlington, VT, they navigated the complexities of long-distance love. They supported each other through difficult times, including the heartbreaking loss of Mia’s beloved dog, Carmen, after a long battle with health issues. Through it all, they prioritized communication, love, and their commitment to one another. Their journey has been filled with adventure and shared passions. They’ve explored new places, embraced creativity through art and music, hiked and exercised together, watched countless shows and movies, and discovered exciting new restaurants. After 3.5 years of dating, Russell decided to take the next step. On December 25, 2024, he proposed to Mia in an intimate moment at her house. Knowing how much Carmen meant to Mia, he incorporated her memory into the proposal by hiding the engagement ring in Carmen’s Christmas stocking—a heartfelt gesture that made Mia’s dream come true. Now, Russell and Mia are overjoyed to begin this next chapter as husband and wife. They look forward to celebrating their love with family and friends on their wedding day, cherishing the journey that brought them together and the future they will build as partners for life.
