Meeting in Michigan
Craig and Cara met in Ann Arbor while Cara was working on her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan and Craig was finishing his MBA and CFA. The first year of their relationship was filled with visiting breweries, wine tasting in Traverse City, University of Michigan football games, and jet skiing in several of Michigan's lakes.
Virginia is for Lovers
During the summer of 2020, Cara moved to Charlottesville to continue working on her PhD. Shortly after, Craig found a job as a portfolio analyst at a wealth management firm. The two of them lived in Charlottesville with their cat, George, and rabbit, Bun, where they enjoyed hiking the Shenandoah mountains, surfing at Virginia Beach, and exploring Virginia's wine country.
On July 10, 2022, Cara and Craig re-hiked the first trail they completed when they first moved to Virginia, Old Rag Mountain. Little did Cara know that this was where Craig was planning to propose. Craig conspired with their neighbors, Emily and Ross, as well as one of Cara's dearest friends from college, Harriet, to capture the moment. After reaching the top of the mountain, Cara gazed at the beautiful Shenandoah mountains. Upon turning around to return to the group, she saw Craig kneeling on one knee. Cara and Craig celebrated with their friends on top of the mountain with a bottle of champagne that he sneakily hid in his backpack.
Today, Tomorrow, and Forever
After Cara finished her PhD in April 2023, the couple moved to the greater Boston area. Cara started working as an oncology data scientist at Novartis pharmaceuticals. Craig found a new finance job in Boston as a custody associate at Prime Buchholz. They are excited to discover all that New England has to offer: hiking and skiing in Vermont and New Hampshire, surfing at the Cape Cod National Seashore, and enjoying plenty of Maine lobster.
Cara and Craig look forward to continuing to build their lives together, surrounded by family and friends, and filled with love!
