Zack and Cara met at Duquesne University in 2017. They moved into the same dorm building for freshman year and both planned to study Nursing. They only lived one floor apart and ran into each other often. In their second semester, Cara and Zack both decided to join Greek Life. Cara joined Zeta Tau Alpha, and Zack joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon. These two organizations were close on campus and had many social events together where they saw each other frequently. They both moved off campus to Southside for their junior year. During the first week of classes, they realized they had every class together as well as their psychiatric clinical. Zack offered to drive Cara to class once, and little did he know she would never drive herself to any class again. Their relationship began to grow outside of classes and in October of 2019, Zack and Cara began dating.

Throughout their Junior year, Cara and Zack went to many Greek life events and date parties together. Cara even managed to get us kicked out of one (she may or may not have tipped over a buffet food burner). For spring break they went to Fort Lauderdale, where Cara ironically started an oven fire and the fire department had to come and evacuate all the smoke. Little did they know, right after getting back from Florida COVID-19 hit, and Duquesne sent all their students online for "2 weeks". Well, we all know how long that lockdown lasted...

From that point forward Cara and Zack basically lived together through covid, going back and forth from Rochester and Pittsburgh. Zack changed his major and graduated early in December of 2020, and in May of 2021, Cara graduated. They both happened to find jobs in Baltimore that jumpstarted their careers. Cara started in the ICU as an RN at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, and Zack started his medical device sales career with Stryker in DC. Not long after they moved into their new apartment in Maryland, they got a puppy and named her Stella.

Little did Cara know, in June of 2022 Zack began to plan their engagement. He planned a fake work event, where his manager sent an email to his entire team for a regional gathering in St. Michaels Maryland in September. He told her it was an event where all of the sales reps, surgeons, and their significant others met from the region to celebrate the year. Zack had coordinated with Cara's bridesmaid Emma to help get her to pick out a white dress and to make sure her nails were done. Emma had Cara going to nail appointments for months and even stole an old dress of Cara's to order white dresses she thought she would like. Zack used instagram, snapchat, and many other social media platforms to reach out to their family and friends to secretly invite them to the engagement. Somehow, Cara never figured out any of this. On September 16th Cara and Zack drove to St Michaels Maryland for the "work event". They were walking towards the dock of the fake party where Zack popped the question in front of a boat on the water. Zack had planned a private boat ride where they celebrated the engagement with champagne. In the meantime Cara did not know that a group of their family and friends were gathering back at the hotel, to surprise her again.
