IMPORTANT NOTE We’re so excited you’ll be celebrating with us! June is a busy time in Summerland, so guests will need to book their own accommodations and transportation. Taxis are limited and rideshares aren’t always reliable. We’ll give Summerland Taxi a heads-up about the wedding, but it’s a good idea to pre-book rides or plan a safe way home with others. AccommodationsSince the celebration wraps up late (last call is 10:30 PM), we strongly encourage guests to stay nearby rather than drive back to Kelowna or further. There are a variety of overnight options in Summerland — from budget-friendly motels to more comfortable or upscale stays.

TransportationWe’ll be sharing cab numbers and local ride options closer to the day so everyone can get home safely. We’re also giving nearby companies a heads-up so rides are easier to find after the party.

First off, we want to thank everyone for the incredible love and support we’ve received. It means the world to us that you’re taking time out of your busy lives to celebrate with us — we’re so grateful to have you here. Halloween weekend, 2022, is when it all started. I (Cara) was dog sitting and a little bored, so I made a last-minute decision to see what some friends were up to. A few moments later, I ended up at a small party where Dylan was staying. Once we met, everything else faded into the background — our attention was only on each other. A week later, we went on our first date and have been inseparable ever since. A few weeks in, we decided to move in together. It seemed fast, but it felt right — everything moved at a pace that felt completely natural for us. Seven months later, during a road trip up to Prince George to visit Dylan’s mom, Sherelle, and his siblings, Jaime and Christina, we made a detour to Barkerville — a historic gold rush town full of 1800s buildings. In front of a tiny chapel there, Dylan got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes, and our engagement began. Now, three years later, we’re finally here — ready to celebrate our love, surrounded by all of you.We feel so lucky to be able to share our lives, our laughter, and this day with the people who mean the most to us.
