We first met at our youth group. Our churches created combined youth groups for the methodist churches around town. It was called the 167. This youth group went on a mission trip to Detroit, MI. (This was Evan's first trip there and Cara's second trip there.) It wasn't till we went on the mission trip together to help the homeless community, where we started talking and hanging out.

Our very first date was going to the county fair. It was the first time we had hung out together outside of our youth group, instead of going to the fair right away like we planned we switched our plans and went to the mall to wait out the storm that had come through. After the storm we then went to the fair to look at the animals and the 4H projects. We didn't want the night to end so before we went our own ways, we went to Wendy's to get food. After that night, we both found out we had feelings for each other.
