As you are all aware, we postponed our large wedding celebration to August 2021 due to COVID-19. We tied the knot in an intimate family ceremony in Chicago in August of 2020 and are looking forward to celebrating our first wedding anniversary with you all! In order to make us feel as safe as possible we are asking you only attend the festivities if you will be fully vaccinated by the wedding weekend. Caren and Robb met in a fairy tail setting, during a party at Robb's fraternity house. While walking through the house, Robb was stricken by a glance of an extremely beautiful girl talking to her friend. He knew he had to meet her, so he walked over and asked the girls, "Want to go drink some better alcohol in my room?" That better alcohol was Smirnoff. While Robb and his friend quickly hit it off with Caren and her friend, a strong connection immediately started to form between Robb and Caren. Caren and her friend asked where the restroom was, assuring that they would be right back. Robb turned to his friend and said, "This girl is really cool. I'm going to ask her for her number when they get back." They didn't come back.

About a month later, Caren returned to the house for another party. To this day, Caren claims that Robb immediately ran up to her and said hi, while Robb maintains that he definitely played it cool. The two really hit it off that night and this time, Robb made sure to get Caren's number.

Over the course of the rest of the school year, Robb and Caren kept hanging out and started to become more serious. While Robb stayed in Bloomington at school over the summer to finish up a couple classes, Caren made the drive from Cincinnati almost every weekend to spend time together. It became evident that there was something special there. Robb moved to Denver to start his career, while Caren still had two years of college to finish up in Bloomington. This began the long, four year long-distance relationship that the two would sustain. They would alternate flying out to see one another every single month. It was extremely hard, but with the love that they shared, neither could imagine seeing it any other way. Finally, in September of 2017, Robb moved to Chicago where Caren now lived and worked. The difficult long distance was finally over and the two were overjoyed to finally be together for good.

Once Robb and Caren were established in Chicago, Robb couldn't wait any longer. There was no question in his mind that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Caren and it was time to make it official. After sneakily purchasing a ring, Robb hatched the perfect plan to propose to Caren on a beautiful, scenic hike while in the Catskills with Caren's whole family. Everyone played a part in throwing Caren off, to the point that she had absolutely no idea the proposal was coming. As the whole family hiked, they came across a beautiful scenic overlook, which Caren and Robb walked down to while the rest of the family held back. As the two stood there, with Caren's family watching from above, Robb dropped to one knee and popped the question. Caren was shocked, excited and overjoyed. She said yes!
