July 30, 2021

Our paths first crossed in downtown San Luis Obispo at the one and only Mother's Tavern. What began as playful banter, quickly transitioned into meaningful conversation not only about our families, but also our faith, in the middle of a bar. My attraction towards Jonathan, along with his inability to stop talking, led me to (despite my better judgement) plant one on him that night. Unbeknownst to me, that same night Jonathan went on to tell his brother that I'd either be the worst thing to happen to him or that he'd marry me one day.

December 18, 2021

After months of pursuit (and patience on Jonathan's part), I finally agreed to go on an official date. In true Jonathan fashion, he went above and beyond taking me to one of the nicest restaurants in SLO county, Ember. It was an absolutely lovely dinner followed by a night of board games and meaningful conversation.

February 5, 2022

Come February, Jonathan continued to display his affection towards me and planned our first getaway. We took a trip down south to Santa Monica where we began our tradition of sharing steaks, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese together at BOA Steakhouse. On our way home, he proceeded to put his best foot forward by agreeing to go to Magic Mountain with me despite hating roller coasters. He truly had a way of always putting me first. It is still one of our favorite trips to this day.

March 18, 2022

As if Jonathan hadn't pulled on my heart strings enough, in March he decided he wanted to get a golden retriever puppy... Like come on, how's a girl supposed to resist an attractive man with a cute puppy? So just like that we were visiting the breeders together and meeting the litter of pups. Jonathan really wanted a girl pup but I wanted the boy pup who had been loving on me during our visits. Again, Jonathan put my desires before his own and agreed to selecting the boy pup. On March 18th we picked up our boy and officially became parents to our fur baby, Goose. Who might I add, is now a total daddy's boy.

April 8, 2022

In April I realized I had basked in the courting process long enough and that Jonathan had more than proven his devotion and interest in me. But still I wouldn't allow him to make it official without one last challenge. I wagered with Jonathan that if he could win a certain number of tickets, under $100 at Dave and Buster then we could officially be "boyfriend and girlfriend". Being the true competitor that he is, he did it with ease and we walked out of Dave and Busters a couple. Very romantic - we know!

July 4, 2022

Just shy of one year knowing one another, we took our second trip together (our first out of state trip) to Illinois. We were celebrating the Fourth of July, as well as Jonathan's birthday. During this trip he showed me around the town of Chicago, took me to our first Cubs game at Wrigley Field, and added to our tradition of steak dinners at Mastro's Steakhouse. It was also during this trip that Jonathan and I first looked at engagement rings together.

October 3, 2022

I don't know where we hit our heads along the way, but by October Jonathan and I had decided to take on a renovation of my family's property together. Going through something as challenging as blindly renovating a home tested us in more ways than one, presented plenty of opportunities for us to grow, and ultimately proved to us that we could get through hard things together. After wrapping up our renovation project in October of 2023, we decided it was time for a fresh start and a well deserved new place.

December 10, 2023

We spent the next few months in our new home enjoying life without construction and reflecting on all that we achieved. Confident in our relationship and ability to take on the curveballs that life has a tendency to throw at us, Jonathan decided it was time to ask me to commit to forever. But not before planning the most thoughtful proposal. Jonathan knew there were certain details I'd hoped would be incorporated on the day of my engagement and he made sure to hit all of them. On December 10th, at our favorite winery, with our closest family members and friends (and a hidden photographer of course), Jonathan asked me to marry him. We spent the following hours celebrating with wine and an amazing dinner at Ember, making it a full circle moment.

April 8, 2025

We, and when I say we I actually mean I, really wanted to make everything even more full-circle by getting married on the date of our anniversary April 8th. However, that date was not available so instead we will be getting married exactly one week later on April 15th, 2025. Tax Day isn't as romantic but we will take it. We are so looking forward to celebrating with you all and thank everyone who has helped guide us, advise us, and love us along the way.

No immediate action is needed by our guests in order to reserve a room. The entire estate has been pre-reserved and payment towards the fixed room rates will be taken care of closer to the wedding. Please keep in mind in order to utilize all rooms and accommodate as many guests on-site as possible, room assignments will be necessary for all guests.

Castello di Petrata

Lodging

We are pleased to announce that we will have exclusivity of the estate and the castle at Castello Di Petrata from the 13th until the 16th. The castle itself can accommodate up to 60 guests. Aside from our immediate family and wedding party, rooms will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. We promise to do our absolute best to create harmonious room assignments. If we are to exceed 60 guests, and additional guests would like to stay at the estate property, on-site tent glamping amongst the olive tree garden is available for 40 more guests. The glamping area has its own restrooms but guests will have access to all other amenities on-site as well. Glamping will be approximately $86 per night for the entire tent (2 guests). Both castle and glamping guests will have access to the following accommodations: continental breakfast, access to the spa, use of the swimming pool, panoramic outdoor jacuzzi, tennis court and the use of all indoor and outdoor areas of the venue for the entirety of our stay. If you're uncomfortable with pre-assigned roommates or glamping is not your thing, no worries - there are also farmhouses within walking distance that are be available for renting. Additionally, the town of Assisi is only about 10 minutes from the venue and offers many hotels, guesthouses, AirBnbs, etc. Our wedding coordinator will be providing an updated list of nearby lodging options that we will share with everyone as well.

Travel

Assisi is a smaller hill town located in the Province of Perugia. Due to its central location, it is recommended to fly into larger surrounding cities, such as Rome or Florence. Laying just about 2 hours from Rome and about 2 and a half hours from Florence, Assisi can then be reached by direct, low-cost train rides from either location. We strongly advise looking into flights in advance to determine which city provides the best options from your home town. Additional recommendations for traveling upon arriving in Italy will come as we get closer to the event.

Trains

There are multiple different train companies that operate throughout Italy. That said, we've looked into which companies provide routes to the Train Station of Assisi and decided to book our tickets through Trainline. Trainline is a reliable source that shows different prices for different train companies on one user friendly platform. We'll personally be taking a direct train from Rome into Assisi on a Trenitalia train, arriving at 4:28pm.
