Sylvana and Carl met back in 2015 when Carl answered a Craigslist ad for a spare bedroom. In October of that year, he moved in to a 3 bedroom apartment Sylvana was sharing with a friend. After a little while, Carl developed a strong bond with Sylvana's dog, Khloe, and became one of her primary care givers. In fact, their bond was so strong that Sylvana jokingly referred to Carl as Khloe's boyfriend.

Having met at one of the most trying times in both of their lives, Sylvana and Carl became fast friends and bonded over their vegetarianism and love of good food. They looked to one another for support and formed a very deep friendship.

As their friendship grew, Sylvana and Carl were being asked why they weren't dating by their families as well as their personal and mutual friends. Although they kept making excuses, they both knew sparks were there but were both scared to act upon it and risk their friendship.

What started as 'just roommates' turned in to more after getting their own place together in 2017. Though Sylvana kept denying it, there was no doubt that she had fallen in love (and had been in love for quite a while) with her friend, Carl. After two years of the 'will they, won't they', Carl finally made a move in early 2018 just in time for the Eagles to win the Superbowl! In fact, February 4th, 2018 is the official date of when their journey began! They have been flying high together ever since.
