Alex and I met through a mutual friend in 2019. He set us up on a blind double date at a bowling alley in College Station, TX. My first impression of him was that he was very good looking , very social, and that he can put down a pitcher like no other. We exchanged phone numbers later that night and kept in touch the following days after. I was unaware of Alex's lack of texting skills so I thought he wasn't interested anymore! Alex went to study abroad in Germany while I stayed in Houston for an internship. We didn't keep in touch the whole summer until one day in September of 2019 he messaged me asking if I would like to go out for dinner and the rest is history! We started officially dating on November 16th, 2019.
Alex is kind-hearted and quite literally the funniest person I know (after me). He has the gift of making everything an amazing experience from running simple errands like grocery shopping to doing a 12-mile hike to the tallest peak in Texas. I am so lucky to have found my person.
Our story begins with an old coworker of mine inviting me on a double date with him and his at the time girlfriend. I reluctantly said yes, as I was way too cool to go on blind dates. We met up at my coworkers apartment, and there she was, downing a wine cooler and wearing the biggest grin on her face. I knew she was the one from the beginning. We went off to go bowling and I, out of my gentlemanly upbringing, couldn't dare to let her drink alone. After our date, we traded numbers and kept in touch. I went off to Germany and Carla went on with school, until one fateful night I got asked if I could joint her at an Aggie football game. I was in love all over again. With our hearts warmed by the Aggie War Hymn and Northgate we got more serious and I asked her to be my girlfriend in November of 2019. From then, we moved in together in Dallas that march, then down to Houston until I went to Nashville that September. This past June I left Nashville and moved back to Texas to ask her for her hand in marriage. She said yes.
