Dalton and Carlee grew up in different towns. They had heard about each other, but never really had much of any interaction early on in their lives. For the most part their only interaction was passing by each other as they went to their classes at the career center. Although, by chance one day they ended up hiding with each other in a game of ghosts in the graveyard at a party of a mutual friends. One might think that this was where their story begins, but after that day they went their own way and never talked or saw each other for several years.

It wasn’t until 2020 that their real story started to unfold. One day in the summertime another set of mutual friends brought them back together. Dalton tried everything he could to impress Carlee that first day, as Carlee whispered and giggled about the goofy things he was doing. As they talked that first night, they discovered that something had been keeping them close to each other their entire lives. They grew up in homes that were no more than 20 miles apart, and then eventually left home to go to colleges that were also no more than 20 miles apart. Some sort of fate was keeping them close by.

The two of them immediately hit it off and shortly after, they became inseparable. The more time they spent with each other the more they wanted to be around each other.

They eventually got a kitten, who got taken back and forth from apartment to apartment as they still lived in separate parts of the city. After some long conversations and decisions, the two of them decided to get an apartment together. Shortly after moving in together, they decided to get another kitten, along with a puppy that Dalton had been wanting for years. The first apartment lasted over a year, before they decided to move into a bigger rental house outside of Grand Rapids.

Little did Carlee know Dalton had been saving, planning, and scheming a way to ask her to marry him. Finally, after several months of trying to keep a secret, he finally came up with his plan. On the way down to Florida for a summer trip, they made a stop at a waterfall in North Carolina. After some shaky legs and a ring box that got stuck in his back pocket, it all worked out because Carlee said yes, and was totally surprised.
