Carlene and David grew up in the same town, attending Mercer Elementary School together. Though life led them in different directions when David moved to Meadville.

Fast forward to their senior year of college: while Carlene was on her spring break trip, a message popped up on her phone. It was from David, wishing her a happy birthday. What seemed like a simple gesture soon turned into daily conversations.

Their first date was at Primanti Brothers—an easygoing night that would mark the beginning of something special.

In August of 2024, they took the next big step, moving into a one-bedroom apartment in Erie with their 2 cats. It was small, but full of love and the excitement of building a life together.

Then, on June 11th, 2025—their three-year dating anniversary—David planned a special evening at Presque Isle. As the sun set over the lake, he got down on one knee and asked Carlene to marry him. Now, they can’t wait to continue their journey surrounded by the family and friends who have been there all along.
