Although Matthew and I both grew up in the same area, went to the same high school and had mutual friends, we did not meet until January of 2012 on Mont Tremblant in Quebec, Canada.

Matthew being an avid snowboarder was looking for the next everglades trail to pursue with his friends. And I was there on a Temple University snowboarding club trip. It just so happened that Matthew was on the trip with a mutual friend of ours. We bumped into each other in the lobby and with it being college, an invitation to a party was extended. Matthew will tell you to this day that he remembers my bright green snowboarding pants. Who would have thought my bright colored clothing left an impression on him that changed the course of both of our histories. Although the trip was fun and we officially met, we parted from Canada strictly as friends. It wouldn't be until 2 years later that our paths crossed again.
