Justin Wayne Keener & Carley Elizabeth Tate


How our story began, was just a quick swipe to the right for the both of us back in 2016. We both went to Lee Davis High School and knew of each other back then. In the time we started talking to each other, Justin moved back out to Butte, Montana for hockey, and I stayed here in Mechanicsville. We talked everyday for hours and became close friends. Even being 2,300 miles apart, feelings for each other grew every day. When Christmas came around that year, he came back home for the holidays, and popped the question to be his girlfriend. Of course I said yes even though I knew he would be heading back to Montana for a little longer. Justin found out closer to the end of the season with the Butte Cobras, he would be moving back to Virginia. It was a sad leaving everyone, but exciting for the next step. I flew out to meet Justin out in Butte, and then begin our journey driving back to Virginia. The 3 day trip on the road was a true test if we were true soulmates and meant to be. We survived that trip and grew more closer together than ever! Years passed and finally took the next step in life in moving in our first house back in March 2023. Not long after, the famous question was asked on July 28th, 2023 to marry Justin. Now we can’t wait to continue the next chapter of our story with all of you on October 19th, 2024 to become The Keener’s.
