If you ask Carli:
For those of you that don't know, I actually went to school with Nathan's older sister, Emily. We became friends and graduated together in 2017. I actually met Nathan on the night me and Emily graduated.
Flash forward a few years I would occasionally go over to the Kennedy house, usually to have dinner and just hang out with Emily. But I also secretly wanted to see Nathan, too. Even though he would attempt to flirt with me.
If I was over at the Kennedy house and having dinner and he wasn't there, I would always ask "Where's Nathan?" Yes I always went over to hang out with Emily, but seeing Nathan was an added bonus for sure, and got slightly upset if he wasn't there.
When Emily went down to Florida to join the Disney College Program, I facetimed her one day. Up to this point for years I thought about Nathan on and off and did not want to admit to myself that I had a crush on him.
I asked her what her family was up to now a days, and we both thought it was strange that Nathan was all grown up now. So, I reached out to him on facebook messenger. We chatted for a month, I asked him out on our first "unofficial" date, which was just a drive and a milkshake from Sheetz. The whole evening then consisted of Nathan taking sips of my milkshake because he regretted not getting one. Oh and chatting.
And the rest is history. And I am so blessed that God has brought Nathan into my life.
If you ask Nathan:
So back when I was fifteen, it was the day before my last day of school my freshman year of highschool. Emily (my sister) said that she was going to have some friends spending the night because it was the night that they all graduated. Little did I know that I was going to meet the love of my life that night. I still remeber when she first came around and I was thinking to myself "She's cute". Then for the next five years, Carli would come over occasionally to hangout with Emily, but I would always kind of flirt with Carli when she would come over. I always tried to make her laugh and do things to tease her (which was my way of flirting). Then on April 11th, 2022, I get a text through facebook from carli saying "Kid, stop growing up". We kept chatting through facebook for a bit, and then I got tired of texting through that, and I decided to give her my number because I could tell that I was starting to get the feels. So then on May 3rd, 2022, (I just got a haircut that day so I was looking fresh). Carli had her job interview for Spiritrust Luthren, so I texted her to ask her how it went, and her respose was... "If you take me out for ice cream I'll tell you". and so I said I would. we went out for milkshakes from sheetz where only Carli got one because I was too worried about my calories intake for the day (which I wish I would've got a milkshake that day). We went for a nice long drive with chatting. listening to music, and just enjoying everything that God placed in this world. Then at the end of the night when I took carli home, I got to meet her parents for the first time. On May 5th, we were playing Mario Kart, and I asked her if she would be my girlfriend (which she then said yes). On May 13th, we scheduled our first official date to go out to Mod Pizza, Hobby Lobby, and to just drive around and have a good time. It was absolutely amazing. Since then, we have gone on so many fun trips, and adventures. For our six month anniversary, we went down to Baltimore and saw the aquarium and went to the cheesecake factory. We also went to longwood gardens for our one year anniversary. Just about a year later from that, I got down on one knee in front of the bell tower at longwood gardens and popped the question. We love the time that we both spend together, and we can't wait to see what other plans that God has in store for us. We've been having so much fun with planning our big day and we can't wait to have all of our loved ones there to share the moment with us.
